World’s hurricanes getting stronger ?

The science that is analysing the effects of global warming is slowly researching more and more effects that could be caused due to the global warming. In the latest such study, something that is sure to be highly controversial, a researcher has concluded that global storms are getting more intense, based on studies carried out over the past 25 years. What this means is that the actually tougher storms are getting even more tough, and this is the scary part. It is the real hard storms that affect people much more – it is these storms that cause people to evacuate, that cause real damage, and so on:

The strongest hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean have become more intense due to global warming over the past 25 years, according to a new study in Wednesday’s edition of the British journal Nature. The findings add fuel to the simmering argument in the meteorological community about the Earth’s changing climate, and its relationship to the power of tropical systems worldwide.

The findings add fuel to the simmering argument in the meteorological community about the Earth’s changing climate, and its relationship to the power of tropical systems worldwide. All of the world’s tropical basins showed this pattern, with the exception of the South Pacific Ocean. Also, there was no noticeable uptick in the intensity of weaker hurricanes, however.

As expected, any such science based on limited data (25 years is not a very long period for getting data on storms in the world’s oceans). However, if this research is true, then this is another example of the major effect that global warming causes to people around the world.
